Sujana Lama was a student and full time resident at St. Devi’s Academy for 13 years. She has changed her name to Christine but her kind, industrious nature hasn’t changed. After graduating from St. Devi’s she attended junior college for 2 years studying science. For the past 3½ years she’s been a student at the Nepal Ayurveda Medical College where she is learning a more natural approach to medical care. In 2 more years she will graduate with a Bachelor’s degree, then after 3 additional years of study Christine will proudly complete her Medical Degree. Yesterday I spoke at length with Christine. She has maintained her relationship with Christ, making time, despite a heavy course load, to read her Bible morning and night. As I spoke with this poised and confident 22 year old woman, I had to remind myself that she was a disadvantaged child who likely would not have amounted to much if she had not found her way into the family at St. Devi’s Academy. Observing her now one would assume she was born into refinement and given every advantage. I thank God for His intervention in her young life and directing her to St. Devi’s. I also thank Bob & Sally for sponsoring her during that time. Christine gushed with praise for St. Devi’s. In fact, she remains close to Devi, calling for advice and texting to keep in touch.
