Five small children press their faces against the schoolroom window watching me as I watch the children of St. Devi’s Academy. The adorable faces belong to 4 year olds, two little students from Nursery Class. The lower grades are standing in rows on the playground singing with enthusiasm, a song called “Showers of Blessings”. Though I cannot understand the Nepali words, I recognize the tune. As I watch and listen, a few children on the fringes swinging their arms and looking around, other children waving at me, I feel tremendously blessed. These precious children, so full of life with smiles spilling from their hearts, are safely tucked into the compound known as St. Devi’s Academy. I silently praise God. I silently thank our supporters and sponsors for their part in making this refuge a reality.
