Winter is serious business in the Rocky Mountains. There are times when the snow plows work around the clock but when the weather improves there is still work to do. The mounds of snow that form in the middle of the road after plowing have to be removed before the next snowfall. A special vacuum-like machine fills the awaiting dump trucks with unwanted snow, which is then transported to a huge nearby field and unloaded.

In our office we have a little natural remedy what we stir up when a sore throat or cold begins, or when we want to boost our immune systems. This isn’t a ‘secret’ recipe because as it happens, 2 of our local coffee shops sell this tea. They call it ‘Feel Better’ tea.

In a small saucepan add:

1 cup of orange juice

The juice of 2 lemons

1 tablespoon of finely grated fresh ginger (to taste)

1/8 teaspoon of cayenne pepper powder (to taste)

1 tablespoon of honey (to taste)

Gently heat and drink hot.

Do not boil because that will kill the vitamins and enzymes.

Also, add as much cayenne and ginger as you can. They work to open the sinuses.
