The students at St Devi’s Academy are in the midst of taking the SLC examination.  The ‘School Leaving Certificate’ is the final examination in the secondary school system in Nepal.  The passing of the exam is necessary in order to continue with higher secondary or intermediate level education.  The SLC exam is an important part of life for a student as it determines the educational career path.   2-3 months after the completion of the examination the results are published.  More than 50% of the students in Nepal fail the exam, mostly those from government schools located in rural areas.  St. Devi’s Academy has consistently ranked in the ‘Distinction’ or ‘First Division’ level which are the 2 (out of 5) highest categories for the SLCs.
