When we built St. Devi’s nearly 2 decades ago the campus was situated in the country surrounded by rice paddies and with occasional visits by cobras. Yes, snakes! Very quickly the area grew up around us. The snakes are long gone and the only rice to be found is in shops. Not only is our compound in the midst of noise and congestion, our buildings stand half empty. Since last year’s earthquake many classrooms as well as offices, all bedrooms and other living space are deserted.

Only the first and second stories are occupied. Corrugated metal classrooms were built on the playground, and children as well as staff sleep on the floor at ground level so that emergency evacuation is quick.

Devi, principal of St. Devi’s Academy and Suzy, director of Trips with a Mission, drove up to the foothills looking for a place to move St. Devi’s. Please pray with us for direction and funding for relocation.
