Durbar Square in Kathmandu is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In ancient times Durbar Square was the location of the Malla and Shah kings who ruled over the city. The centuries old buildings showcase spectacular architecture, which draws many tourists to this location, walking distance from Thamel.

As I recently strolled through the square I witnessed both damage from the earthquake a year ago and efforts of restoration and clean-up.
