A good mother is always interested in her child’s life even when her child is grown. Such is the case with Ambika, a devoted mom in Nepal, who is also a teacher and an indispensable strong ‘right arm’ at St. Devi’s Academy. Her son, Praveen, was one of the first children to attend St Devi’s so many years ago. In all the numerous seasons and years that have transpired he kept busy with school, work, and family (See blogs dated 6/3/15 & 1/2/16). Ambika was eager to see her son in his far off life but after applying for and being denied a US visa multiple times, she almost gave up hope that she would have the joyful opportunity to visit Praveen. Trying once again, Ambika applied for a visa at the US Embassy in Kathmandu. Praise God she was finally granted a visa! Her heart was full as she stayed with her son for a month, met his friends and experienced his life up-close! During her stay, they traveled to Bellevue University in Nebraska, the place where Praveen’s American life began. Professors and friends enjoyed a happy reunion with Praveen’s family.

Ambika boarded a plane yesterday for the long and circuitous journey home. The memories of her sojourn with her son will stay with her always.
