I watch and listen to a group of teenagers engage in playful banter. It is obvious they care deeply about each other. These young people are not school chums but part of a unique family comprised of 8 children and 2 middle aged parents. I asked whether they argue with each other and they looked at me rather strangely. ‘No’, they said. Alexey and Ludmilla, the parents, confirmed that answer as truth. I was amazed because every family that I know bicker and disagree, some quite often!
This family unit is like a jigsaw puzzle. The first piece of the puzzle is comprised of brothers, Vlad and Dima. They are blood brothers abandoned at a young age and placed in separate orphanages. Vlad came to live at the TWAM home and with diligence we were able to find Dima. Then came Nastya, Dasha and Natasha, beautiful little girls who were not related to each other. After that Vera arrived and we learned that she had a brother, Pavel and a sister, Nastya. By God’s grace, much searching and persistence, we located them and united the siblings. To reunite two brothers and then 3 siblings and then miraculously blend all the children together as a family was truly remarkable!!
Vera is married with an infant of her own. Vlad has finished college and is teaching music. He has incredible God-given talent. All except Pavel, who is affectionately called Pasha, are attending high school. This marvelous story would be impossible without the last piece to the puzzle, sponsors who make all of it possible.
